Tim Tebow; Fourth Quarter king

Tim Tebow, the name you keep hearing on espn everyday for the last seven week. He is also the new starting qb for the denver broncos which have won 6 straight under his leadership. The way he win is the most un-usual style I have ever seen, and Ive watched Brett Favre. He seems to trick his oppenets  into thinking he is a terrible quarterback until the fourth quarter an dputs it into gear. He has won almost every game by a last minute comeback or overtime win. Im a fan of comebacks, but if tebow played well in the first three Quarters then he woulndt have to lead them back into the game. He is pretty terrible in almost every way until the last few minutes. Don’t get me wrong he seems like a nice guy, but you cant keep playing like he is one day soon a defence isnt going to allow you to keep it close and tebow will be innefective the whole game.

With a qb rating of  64.8 in the first three quarters and a 110.6 the the last it is to assume that if a team can blow out the broncos early on by a huge margain they will win. If Tebow can not answer any of the offence by a high scoring team then they will lose. Enjoy it broncos fan because not all teams let you score in the fourth quarter or keep it close. Im assured that Tim Tebow will not last long if he continues to play badly in the first half of the game.

All Hail the freshmen

All Hail the freshmen

Cam Newton, One of the best rookie quarterbacks the NFL has ever seen. Yes I just said that, with multiple 400 yard games Newton is tearing up the NFL right know. I wish I could say the same for his team who can barely seem to win a game right know. Newton right know is in the same rookie category as Troy Aikman, Drew Bledsoe, John Elway, Marc Bulger, Ben Roethlisbergur, Matt Ryan and Phil Simms. Most of those Quarterbacks have gone on to great success in the NFL so the panthers can breathe a breath of fresh air because they have a great qb for the future. Most rookies sit on the bench their first year or have little impact on the NFL, but this year’s class of rookies has put the notion to same. With such rookies as Andy Dalton (Bengals), Chris Ponder (Vikings), DeMarco Murray (Cowboys) who even ran for 253 yards in one game and punt returner Patrick Peterson (Cardinals). These rookies are impacting there teams like few rookies have. Andy Dalton has leaded the Bengals to a surprising winning record with out there long time qb Carson palmer.

With all of these rookies playing well right now it is hard to imagine what they will me like in a few years with more experiences. Hopefully these rookies keep playing hard and lead there teams to great success in the NFL over many years.

Screening Report; True Grit

Screening Report; True Grit

One of the most important scenes in True Grit happens toward the end of the movie Mattie seizes LaBoeuf's rifle and shoots Chaney in the chest, knocking him over the edge of the cliff, killing him. The recoil knocks her into a pit, where she disturbs a ball of rattlesnakes. Cogburn arrives, but not before Mattie’s is bitten by a rattle snake in the arm. Cogburn rides day and night to get Mattie to a doctor, carrying her on foot after euthanizing Mattie's exhausted horse. The movie ends with Mattie, twenty five years later with her standing over Cogburn's grave and reflecting on her decision to move his remains, how she has never married, and how time catches up with everyone.

Throughout the movie Cogburn is portrayed as a hard, stern and rouged man, but during this scene he did something that maybe even he was surprised that he did it. The scene is one of the most important ones because Cogburn, a tough man who cared little about any one risk his own life to save Mattie’s life. Even after Mattie’s horse is exhausted and he has to euthanize it he begins to carry her. Mattie eventually grew on him and he cared about her even though he may have not showed it until the very end.

Looking at Movies: Film analysis

Looking at Movies: Film analysis

When analyzing a film there are two important things that you should look at. One would be content, or subject matter. The other important thing to look at is form, or how the subject matter is expressed. Formal analysis is a specific type of visual description which meant to evoke the work in the reader’s mind. Instead it is an explanation of visual structure, of the ways in which certain visual elements have been arranged.  Some example in a movie would be symbolic value, slow motion, motif, establishing shot, long shot, point of view and metaphor. These entire things will determine the mood and state of mind of the film. For example doing a formal analysis for the movie Juno, the audience expects her to abort the baby. The scene leads up to an abortion clinic and outside an anti-abortionist try to change Juno’s mind. Outside the clinic is a terrible parking lot, cheesy stone facade, and bad interior reflecting on how bad the clinic and process is. This mood is set up as Juno changes her mind about the abortion. Look, point of view and reaction is also important in the situation when she decide to change her mind. Analyzing films helps determine what the message of the movie is for, who it’s for, why it was directed, the mindset of the director and what thoughts were put into this film. Film analyzing will help you better understand the film mindset and perhaps identify the main ideas or the point that is trying to make. Better understanding and concept of a film can help a viewer enjoy the movie greater than they would of before.

"How to set up an ice fishing Tip Up"

How to set up an ice fishing Tip Up
When ice fishing the most important thing is first set up the tip-ups.A tip up is a horizontal stick set over a hole (previously drilled) and the spool that holds the fishing line sits in the water under the ice to keep it from freezing (See Figure One). There is a wire trigger that runs to the spring wire that has the flag attached that holds it down until a fish bites, this releases the spring wire and allows the flag to pop up letting you know that there is a fish has latched on.
Figure One
The first step is rigging the tip up to be used by putting line on. Do not use monofilament, you should choose a braided line to wrap around your spool.

Next you will tie the leader to the other end of the swivel. The swivel will enable you to change leaders quickly if they become damaged. Use between five to ten feet of leader (a leader is a short piece of metal with a loop hole used to attach hook to fishing line). The strength of the leader will depend on what you are planning to fish for. Heavier test line should be used if you are pursuing larger fish.

The last step of the rigging process is to attach a hook to the end of the leader. Hook size will also vary depending on the bait you will use and what type of fish you are fishing for. Now you are ready to fish but don't rush to throw your tip-up in the hole; you need to determine your fishing depth first (See Figure two).
Figure Two

You can use a fish finder to locate the depth at which the fish are or you could buy a traditional depth finder.  A depth finder is basically a heavy weight you can clip on the end of your line to see how deep the water is.

Attach the depth finder to your hook and lower it into the hole. Allow the line to go out until it hits the bottom. You can tell when the depth finder hits the bottom because your line will become slack. Lift your line up until you feel the weight of the depth finder again. You have now determined where the bottom is. Now it's time to reel the line back up so you can bait the hook, do not however reel the line back in to the spool (See Figure 3).

Figure 3
The line out of the spool tells you how deep you have to be.  Attach a split shot to the line to provide an adequate amount of weight to sink your bait. Bait your hook and lower the line to the marked location on your line. Be sure your line is run through the guide so it can trigger the flag. Set your flag down in the holder and place the whole setup above the hole (See Figure 4).

Figure 4

You are now finished and ready to catch the big one. Wait for the flag to rise and when it does check your line immediately! Now that you know how to use a tip up, the numbers of fish you catch will more than likely increase. If you complete the process properly the tip up will work effectively and efficiently. The more practice you have at setting tip ups the better you will become at ice fishing. The better you become at ice fishing the bigger your fish, which in turn allows more bragging rights in the ice shack.

"The strangest music videos I"ve seen"

After reading an article entitled “YouTube Hall of Fame: The Worst Music Videos of All Time”, written by the Grantland staff I have a few things to say. Those were some pretty bad music videos, not in the sense they were bad song just the fact that the videos were let’s just say very questionable. I’ll break down each video that presented and my opinion to show you how bad they really were. In the Billy Squier, "Rock Me Tonite” he prances around in pink out fits and is very questionable what he is trying to do. According to the GrantLand staff this video ruined his career, but I disagree he is a good singer and the video wasn’t weird just different it hardly bothered me at all. The next one Joe Nichols, "If Nobody Believed in You" was strange to say the least it involved an angry dad yelling at his son in baseball, a son not letting his father take a driving test and taking God out of the pledge. This whole video was very “country” and by that I mean not very good. It was very strange song with some even stranger songs. The next one was Huey Lewis and the News, "Hip to Be Square which they labeled very strange. I actually disagree here it was just a close up on him and the drums.it wasn’t very strange when you compare it to the others on the list. I have to say it was a good song and a decent music video. The final one I will talk about is Dog Police, "Dog Police" I’m not even sure where to begin. A video about dog-human androids arresting dog-human androids is one of a kind. I couldn’t help but sing the catchy chorus (possible the only good thing about the video). Another fact wasn’t as strange as the video “Always" by Erasure, check it out you won’t be disappointed by the weirdness factor.

                                                     "Procrastination" tales of mere existence
